3. Why are Employees more Loyal Than Their Employers?
Hide
In this video, Jeffrey Pfeffer explains why employees are more loyal than their employers. Pfeffer conducted a study which found that whilst reciprocity is an automatic reaction within social contexts, this is not carried over into business, where a ‘business mindset’ is prevalent. Employers take a more calculated approach to reciprocity, approaching it as a business case in regards to cost and reward. However, this relatively short-sighted mindset may actually present risks to a business in the long run.
